The agent carries a credential, signed and registered in a Stellar contract. Whoever's on the other end of a payment can look up exactly who it belongs to, and what it's allowed to do. Feed an agent the right words and it'll believe almost anything. So the limit doesn't live in its instructions. It lives in a Soroban contract that checks the x402 charge while the payment is happening. The agent can be fooled. The network can't. The payer isn't a person's wallet. It's a Soroban contract that adds up what it already spent today and refuses anything past the cap, mid-payment, not before. Go over, and the network itself says no. Quien paga no es la billetera de una persona. A fingerprint of the authorization is written to Stellar, permanently tied to the payment it approved. Anyone can check the two match, no need to trust whoever runs our server. The agent reads the bazaar's live catalog, puts together an offer that fits its budget, and pays through x402, the open payment protocol the store already speaks. Any store that speaks x402 can plug in the same way, no custom integration needed. That's because it's built on an open MCP protocol.
